To the Victor Belongs the Spoils
This scripture reveals the victory that Jesus, the stronger man, has won over the strongman, Satan. The most demonic characteristic you can display outside of un-forgiveness is to quit.
Luke 11:21–22 (KJV) When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
When you give up and refuse to get up, that’s exactly what the Devil has done and wants you to do.
Every believer can bind Satan in the name of Jesus Christ. This must be done if we are going to wage a successful war campaign against him.
We must use the spoken word in faith to accomplish this task.
Jesus gave us this authority in Matthew 18:18, “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
We must realize that this is a revelation. Not only is it a doctrinal truth, but you can develop a relationship with Jesus Christ to make it happen.
This principle is even found in the Old Testament.
In Psalm 149:9, “To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.”
The badge of honor belongs to every saint. If the judgment is written then you can execute it upon the enemy.
What has God written about the enemy that He wants us to execute? Why doesn’t God do it?
When Satan is brought to the light, you find out that his armor has been taken from him, and he has been stripped of his weapons. If you refuse to operate in your authority, then the Devil has the power to defeat you.
The judgment has already been decided. This is one of those hidden benefits of receiving the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost will bring to light, “Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged” (John 16:11).
Satan prefers darkness to light because the light shows his vulnerability. Notice something else that has been taken from him. The precious jewels that used to cover him.
In Ezekiel 28:13, ten stones covered Lucifer.
Notice the precious jewels in the breastplate of judgment are the same stones (Exodus 28:15-23).
Again, in Revelation 20:1-21 you see the same stones in the foundation of the New Jerusalem.
What Satan lost; the church has gained.
It now belongs to us.
Every believer has been given a covering of precious stones, and we should rejoice. Notice that in the breastplate of judgment and the foundation stones of the New Jerusalem, there are 12 stones. In Lucifer’s covering, there are only 10.
We got two more stones than he did. The “Agate” and the “Amethyst.”
The “agate” means, “tongues of fire”;
the “amethyst” means, “bind firmly to a dream.” It is known as the dream-stone.
Two things the devil will never have been the Holy Ghost and the family name of God, Jesus. He will never again feel the fire of God’s presence, nor does he have a future.
We have both even if we make mistakes, because we are covered with armor and stones. The reason the devil wanted to deceive Adam and Eve. Is because he knew that he had been replaced.
The song of the Lord was no longer in his spirit. It now belonged to Adam and Eve. You have replaced the devil in worship, in song and in glory.
Satan walked into the Garden of Eden and thought he wouldget some comrades to join his scheme. Instead, he received a curse and was reduced to crawling on his belly.
Because according to the scripture we have permission to tread on serpents (they bite with the head) and on scorpions (they sting with the tail).
Heads or tails we are going to win.
You possess in the Holy Ghost the power, the “dunamis.” Which can mean dynamite, but it also means dynamo.
Dynamite explodes and then dissipates but a dynamo is continual and perpetual power. I would like to choose from this list of 4 stones to illustrate what Satan has lost and we have gained.
We have already discussed the agate and the amethyst.
Now we will take four others and show you how important it is for you to realize the power of the dynamo in your life through the Holy Ghost.
Now let’s turn our attention to the armor of God. God’s armor which has to be taken up by the believer. Satan lost it but you have to take to yourself this armor.
It can be divided into three categories:
What we do for ourselves-
Our loins girt about with truth. You must take truth and apply to your life.
You determine what you will believe. Our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
You are responsible for your attitude. Let the peace of God rule in your minds. Your feet were made for walking. The peace that rules in your heart determines the atmosphere everywhere you go.
What God does for us-
He gives us the helmet of salvation. Only by God’s work at Calvary can we be saved. You cannot save yourself. But God can.
He gives us the breastplate of righteousness. Only by faith in Jesus Christ can you be forgiven and made righteous.
What we use in warfare-
The shield of faith has been given to us to protect us from the fiery darts of the wicked one. You can with this shield quench all the fiery darts.
The Sword of the Spirit is the word of God. This word, “word” is Rhema.
Only the rhema will defeat the enemy. What is God saying now? When you receive it nothing can defeat it.
The Bible never talks about the sword of the devil, it does talk about his fiery darts.
But they have to fired from a distance. Satan doesn’t want anything up-close that would give away his position or vulnerability.
The Bible does talk about the Sword of the Lord and of Gideon. That sword is the word of God. The devil doesn’t have a book, only God has a book. When you throw the word of God at the enemy he has nothing to throw back at you.
You have a Ruby (Sardine): You have a covering. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Satan cannot be redeemed.
You have a Sapphire: In Ezekiel 1:26 the Bible talks about the throne of God having the appearance of sapphire.
This reveals to us the importance of access to the throne of God. Satan no longer has access; he has been cast down into the earth and will never rise again.
It is a privilege to boldly go before the throne and make your request known to the Lord. Jesus is the stronger man.
Because we possess the blessing. There is an open heaven. This is the blessing of Nathaniel, who sees Jesus as complete access.
We have received an Emerald: An emerald rainbow is the sign of the new covenant. The storm is past, and we are now saved.
This covenant removes the curse; it stops the storm and encircles the throne.
Your testimony determines the level of victory you will have over the dragon. You must let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works. Your light is your testimony, your shine is your joy in the Lord.
