Children’s Ministry Update
Florida District Camp Season 2025 has come to a close — and what a season of revival it has been!
On the final night of Crusaders Camp, 4 more campers received the gift of the Holy Ghost, bringing the total to 12 filled during the week!
When combined with Junior Camp, where 45 campers were filled with the Holy Ghost, we are celebrating 57 young lives transformed by the power of God this summer!
From unforgettable altar calls to bold messages and powerful moments of worship, this camp season has been nothing short of miraculous. These children responded to The King’s Call — and their lives will never be the same.
To every parent, pastor, and volunteer who prayed, served, and believed with us: Thank you. You played a vital role in a Kingdom-impacting move of God.
Bible Quizzing Update
Congratulations to the Beginner & Junior Quizzers who completed all of their material (164 verses/259 verses)!
These kids have his THE WORD OF GOD in their heart. We are so thankful for the Junior Bible Quizzing program that invests in the kids of our Florida district. Visit fldistrictchildrensministry.com for more information on starting a team in your church.
Four Effects of a Vision
Insignts into the Prayer of Jabez
The prayer of Jabez is often overlooked because it is found in a most unlikely place - the genealogies recorded in 1 Chronicles. But when you read it, you discover that every vision is designed to transform us.
Jabez began his prayer as we so often do,
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested”(1 Chronicles 4:10, KJV).
Jabez asked God for blessings, a blessing that would enlarge his coast, he wanted to more than what others wanted for his life. That’s why the Bible says he was more honorable than his brethren.
They were satisfied. They limited themselves because they refused to believe and ask for more.
Jabez’s name means “sorrow.”
Some circumstances may have caused his brothers to want to keep him down, but Jabez knew that God could make the difference. God answered his prayer and now it is forever recorded in God’s word.
Jabez offers us four keys that will unlock our potential and persuade us that if we will believe God, He can use anybody, anywhere, to achieve anything. Jabez’sperspective changed him and opened doors of possibility so that he was able to go beyond what others thought him to be and crushed the labels they placed on him. It is God’s will to deliver us as well and unlock our potential to fulfill His plan for our lives.
Power of Alignment
For Jabez's prayer to work for us, we must be aligned witha purpose higher than ours. That’s why he requested that God increase his territory.
He presented his hunger for growth beyond his current limits.
Believers who stop growing start dying.
Leaders who stop learning stop growing.
Possessing the Heavenly Vision enables you to perceive the divine plan for your life and awaken to His eternal purpose. It ignites spiritual passion to fulfill God’swill by using His methods to carry out His intentions.
We have to become aware of our constraints and why we are limited, and then we must submit to a divine makeover that allows God to align us with what is greater. At first, that can be painful, but the pain is worth the gain because others may no longer be comfortable around us since they are comfortable where they are at. However, the promise is worth the price.
Alignment is necessary, and we must make constant adjustments because vision develops slowly at times.
It demands patience, especially when things get worse before they get better. But when we are determined to press on, we can anticipate the breakthrough into a new level, an expanded border where growth becomes the norm.
By obeying, our vision grows, and we advance into what the Lord has always wanted to give us. But He wants us to desire it more than life itself. Ignore the sorrow, the insults from the brothers, and pain, and hold fast to the possibilities of what God can do when you ask for His blessing.
The Need for Balance
It seems from the few words written about Jabez in scripture that he understood a quest for growth must include balance.
It is easy to fall when you are out of balance. Jabez knew the hand of God must be at work tobe stable enough to pursue growth without falling.
We must have a stabilizing force that keeps us firmly rooted in truth lest we lose strength and effectiveness. Balance tempers the hunger for growth and the spirit of greed. Inviting the hand of God to work in our lives keeps us from failing and holds dear the virtues of truth, hope, faith, and joy. Only then can we reach for the stars and not become destructive to ourselves and others.
The Importance of Unity
When we are connected and united with God’s purpose for our lives, we can begin to operate at a higher level.
The world calls it synergy, but the Bible calls it oneness.
It occurs when many parts work together to create a greater force and power with connection and unity among the parts of the group or system. A vision for advancement and enlargement is the magnet that pulls people together and the glue that holds them together until they have accomplished their purpose.
We can replace division with advancement when we strive to create and maintain harmony by sharing the vision. Now, our goals can and will become a reality. But we need God’s help to do this. Jesus is the source of this blessing.
Only by His power can we move the obstacles that have blocked our progress. So, let’s get together; let’s stay together. Together, we can accomplish anything God has put in our hearts to do.
God’s Plan in Motion
Consider the prophet Jeremiah who initially felt like a failure because no one was converted after all his preaching.
Israel, the government, the priesthood, his own family, and the people resisted his message and refused to obey. We have all faced times when we are less effective and productive in our efforts. Yet, when Jeremiah refused to speak in God’s name and was determined to keep silent because all he had done was stir up a hornet'snest, and hornets sting, he could not hold back the passion.
The word of God burned in his heart like fire shut up in his bones.
The vision is a fire that will never go out if it gets into your heart. May the fire on our altars never go out. This fire continues to burn, and it moves us forward to our destiny. If the vision remains in our hearts, we canmotivate ourselves despite the challenges of the day.
God has called us, as does the prayer of Jabez, to live by these principles, and it gives us the spiritual perspective we need to understand not just how to do something but why we are doing it.
Fundamental principles are essential for living from a perspective of vision.
Finds your values,
live by your principles, and
cherish your values.
The Lord will honor you, develop and allow you to reach further than you ever thought possible.
Summary
Once we understand the vision and have defined what we need God to do, we can release God through prayer to open the way forward.
I have found that is the best way to create balance. Vision requires a deeper faith, relying on God’s control and timing, and trust God for the adjustments needed. In summary, Jabez's prayer is an enduring reinforcement of the powerful impact of having a vision.
As we journey towards fulfilling God’s vision for our lives, let us seek radical change, maintain balance, promote togetherness, and embrace His purpose like Jabez.
Yours for the Kingdom,
Pastor Kinsey
